Preparing your pet for a Photo Shoot

To prepare your dog for a photoshoot, groom them, exercise them beforehand to expend energy, and bring plenty of high-value treats and their favourite toys to keep them engaged. Also, allow them to acclimate to the location, practice basic commands, and keep the atmosphere relaxed and fun to ensure they are comfortable and attentive during the session.

Before the Shoot

Grooming
Bathe and brush your dog a day or two before the shoot, but avoid doing it the same day. Trim hair that might be covering their eyes to capture their expressive gaze.

Exercise
Exercise your dog before the shoot to tire them out and help them relax. A long walk or play session can make them more chill and focused.

Familiarization
Take your dog to the photoshoot location beforehand to let them explore and get used to the environment, which helps reduce nervousness and anxiety.

Basic Commands
Practice basic commands like "sit," "stay," and "down" in low-distraction environments to reinforce their training.

During the Shoot

Comfort is Key
Ensure your dog is comfortable; if the weather is hot, bring a fan, and if it's cold, bring a sweater.

Bring Supplies
Pack a bag with high-value treats they love, water, a travel bowl, a blanket for breaks, and their favorite toys to use as attention-getters.

Use Treats and Toys
Use a toy or high-value treat to capture your dog's attention and keep them focused on the camera by holding it near the lens.

Stay Patient & Positive
Your dog will pick up on your emotions. Be patient, stay positive, and have fun; this will guide the moment and help your dog feel at ease.
